Okay, I’m a dork, I know. But I’m a really big reader and I love technology plus poetry. The Poem Flow App is a totally amazing synthesis of the two and a I am super jazzed about it.
Poem Flow sends out a new poem each day, and presents it in a pared down, minimal, scrollable flow if you hold the screen upright, and if you turn it to the side, it “reads” it to you in magical lines that might be a technological breakthrough. It also has a social aspect to it, as well, since every user gets the same poem each day, and each time you view a poem it tells you when the last person viewed it, and where in the world they were. It’s like being on the same poetic page with people around the world. Amazing. And free. Check it out on the Poem Flow website or in the App Store.

Calling the earthquake in Chile a massive disaster is an understatement. At this time, over 700 people have died and over 2 million people are without homes. Now is a great time to donate to charities that are helping people get back on their feet.
To donate, text Chile to 23583 to donate $10 to Habitat for Humanity, 20222 to donate $10 to World Vision, or 52000 to donate $10 to the Salvation Army. To learn more about this heartbreaking disaster, check out this article in the Salt Lake Tribune.

Are you addicted to Facebook? Yeah, me too. Well, we should all probably join a support group or something, but instead I am here to help you become a more engaged Facebooker. You’re welcome.
I basically don’t use a “real” camera anymore at all, because my iPhone never leaves my sweaty little palms and there’s no reason to carry extra stuff. And I also really like to keep a constant stream of mobile photos coming in, because I know that everyone on the FB is desperately waiting to see what I ate for lunch. If you’re like me, iLoader is for you.
Using the actual Facebook App to upload your iPhotos is clunky and slow. But iLoader lets you bulk upload and caption them in like a second. You can do everything to photos that you would normally do on Facebook, which is perfect, because it means that tagging your daily whereabouts is lickity split. It’s $1.99 for the full version and totally worth it.
Learn more about iLoader on their Facebook page.

Figuring out where to eat dinner can be a major hassle. Especially if you’re with a group of people with differing tastes. So, what if you could just pick a neighborhood and price range in any given city, wave a magic wand and make restaurant suggestions appear? Well, you kind of can, actually. It’s the Urbanspoon App.
The Urbanspoon App lets you pick your parameters and then shake the iPhone to come up with a random selection. It looks basically like a slot machine and is almost more fun because you don’t lose any money just by playing. Of course, you can also browse for restaurants by neighborhood, price range, or cuisine type if you’re not into the game. Check out the App on the Urbanspoon site or in the App store.

This is, quite possibly, the most dangerous App I’ve come across. If you’re not into designer clothes or sample sales, it can’t hurt you, but if you are, I cannot be held responsible for your future financial well-being. I can, however, be held responsible for your future stylishness. Oh Gilt, what have you done to my wallet?
In case you don’t know, Gilt is a sample sale site that features luxury and designer goods. The Gilt App allows you too keep track of sales and make purchase on your iPhone. It even reminds you when sales are starting. Ouch, that’s a hard one to resist. Learn more about the Gilt App on their website.
